Dandelion Seed Ball Closeup
A close-up image of a dandelion seed ball - also called a puffball, blowball, or clock - that formed after the bright yellow dandelion flower Taraxacum officinale fades and grow into this seed-bearing stage. A single seed ball can contain hundreds of individual seeds attached to a fluffy white plume that act as a parachute for each seed. The seeds are then wind dispersed, enabling them to be carried over long distances.
