Photo of two New York City Subway Diamond Jubilee tokens each side. In honor of 75 years of the subway system in service in 1979, the MTA issued the commemorative token to mark the event. The token design was the third of six total in 50 years of token use. The token was in use for one year at 50 cents before a new design came out in 1980 when the fare went up to 60 cents.
