Common Comfrey Symphytum officinale

Comfrey is a perennial herb native to Europe. The typical 2-3½ feet tall plants produce blue, pink, purple, or white bell-shaped flowers and large leaves throughout the summer, with the first flowers opening in late April or early May. Comfrey shout not be used internally. However, comfrey is a source of Allantoin which is often found as an ingredient in skin care preparations. Comfrey is also known by the names �knitbone,�� �slippery root,�� �bruisewort,�� and �blackwort.��
