Snowy mountain peaks and clouds can be seen on Colorado's Loveland Pass as it traverses the Continental Divide.
Grand Teton Mountain and Slope
A green forested slope serves as foreground to a glacier covered mountain peak at Grand Teton National Park.
Red Rocks Park Afternoon
Bright afternoon Colorado sunshine lights up Red Rocks Park as seen from the Trading Post Trail at Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater, Morrison Colorado.
Pawnee Buttes Cloudscape
Dark roiling clouds above a sweeping grass floor envelope rock formations creating an enchanted dreamlike visage. This is Pawnee National Grasslands, Colorado, during early spring. These grasslands are located on the Colorado prairie near the Wyoming state line.
Joshua Tree Rocks Boulders and Sky
At Joshua Tree National Park wispy clouds, rocks and boulders form a background to a spiky Joshua tree. Small bushes and cacti are also visible. Residual film grain can be seen in the sky as this image was scanned via a Canon film scanner and processed for noise before editing.
Coal Bank Pass on the Million Dollar Highway
This is Coal Bank Pass along Colorado's Million Dollar Highway between Silverton and Ouray. This massively scenic and breathtaking highway between Ouray and Silverton is also called the San Juan Skyway. The weather this day was overcast and cloudy and consequently allowed me to use HDR High Dynamic Range techniques in bringing out the vivid colors in this composite image.
Great Sand Dunes Clouds and Sky
At Colorado's Great Sand Dunes National Park clouds drift over the dunes creating shadows. In the foreground is a field of green grasses and bushes.
Colorado Golden Autumn II
This is one of many wonderful golden autumn trees that I photographed during an outing on Oct 20, 2011 near Denver, Colorado. It was a wonderful day and the trees were spectacular.
El Vado Lake Blue Water
New Mexico's El Vado Lake is very blue under blue skies. Scattered clouds can be seen in the distance. Chama and Heron Lake are nearby.
White Rock and Red at Garden of the Gods
This is White Rock, a white sandstone formation, at Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs.
Evening at the Badlands
This is a view at the Badlands National Park at evening just before sunset. Colored bands can be seen in the rock formations.
Grand Canyon Afternoon Blue Sky
The ruggedness and deep hues of the Grand Canyon are displayed against a deep blue sky. This view is from the South Rim.
Evening Clouds Over Tenmile Range
Evening clouds form over the Tenmile Range as seen from Lake Dillon Colorado. Tenmile Range is an extension of the Mosquito Range of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. These two ranges are essentially the same with Tenmile on the western side of the Continental Divide and Mosquito on the east.
Guanella Pass Ridges
This Colorado Front Range Rocky Mountain Pass is located in Southwestern Clear Creek County in the Pike National Forest, which is west of Denver, and is traversed by the Guanella Pass Scenic Byway. This byway connects I70 at Georgetown to US 285 at Grant. At the summit of this pass are hiking trails which lead to Mount Bierstadt and Mount Evans. Gray's and Torrey's Peaks are also visible from the Guanella Pass Summit.
Park Avenue at Arches National Park
This is one of the many interesting formations at Arches National Park near Moab Utah. This park was originally designated as a National Monument on April 12,1926 and later changed to a National Park on November 12, 1971.
Black Canyon of the Gunnison the River and the Cliffs
This is a view of the Gunnison River as it flows at the bottom of the canyon. The Black Canyon of the Gunnison has extremely steep cliff walls and some of the oldest rock in North America. These canyon views, including this one, are easily accessible from the lookouts along the South Rim Road. This National Park is just north off US route 50 between the Curecanti National Recreation Area and Montrose, Colorado.
